DJ Storm ist eine Legende und seit Anbeginn der Drum’n’Bass-Szene eine zentrale Figur. Mit Goldie und DJ-Partnerin Kemistry (R.I.P.) gründete sie in den 1990ern das genreprägende Metalheadz-Label, gab dem Sound im legendären Blue Note-Club eine erste Heimat und verbreitete ihn über weltweite Touren.
Mit Souveränität & Stil spielt Storm ihre mit exklusiven Dub-plates vollgepackten Sets welt-weit in renommierten Clubs und auf Festivals, wie Outlook oder Glastonbury.
Ihr starkes Engagement für FLINTA in der Clubszene macht sie international zum Vorbild für viele Künstlerinnen.

Mit Storm haben wir eine lange Verbundenheit, die auch hier im Blog etwas dokumentiert ist. Zuletzt hatten wir sie 2018 zu Gast. davor 2007 zu unserem 6. Geburtstag, wozu ich im verlinkten Artikel beschreibe, dass ihr Set mit Kemi 1996 in einem lange vergangenen Club in der Luxemburger Straße für mich ein Initialerlebnis für Drum´n´Bass als Clubmusik war. Nach ihrem ersten Gig bei uns haben wir sie immer wieder getroffen, insb. in London oder bei unserer jährlichen Pilgerfahrt zu Sun&Bass.

This is a re-recording of one of the sets I played at our anniversary party in January 2026, celebrating 25 years in the events game. It´s not a „best of 25 years“, that´s nonsense trying to achieve in an hour-long mix. It was a selection for a certain slot in the course of the party, so that defined the overall vibe, what to leave out to avoid redundancy etc..
Still, I wanted to represent that early era, present a core, an essence of the drum´n´bass sound and not stray to far into all the niches that I usually love to explore. So it really brings together many highlights of our first decade (mostly), important tracks for the genre or specific subgenres and quite a few tracks, that were centrepieces of our nights. So it´s a bit educational as well, I added some notes to the tracklist, in case anyone cares.
01 – Björk – All Is Full Of Love (Chris SU Remix): Start with the general message: Why do I play music to people in clubs for half of my life? To spread love, admittedly a very special kind. In our first years, I was „the liquid guy“ that added other vibes to the dark stuff, rowdy jump-up or frantic jungle. The tiniest dancefloor is big enough for a large range of emotions.
02 – Marcus Intalex – Temperance: One of Marcus´ iconic anthems as a solo artist. Special one for the SAB family, that mourned his passing intensly.
03 – John B – Up All Night (Epic Mix): As epic as it gets, everyone knows a version of this tune. John has an unmatched level of uniqueness in dnb, creating own subgenres and a recognizable trademark sound.
04 – D.Kay & Epsilon – Platinum: This was another local anthem, trancey combined with very rowdy breaks that always made the crowd explode. Sad that the two didn´t carry on producing.
05 – Omni Trio – Renegade Snares (High Contrast Remix): The original and the Foul Play remix were peak jungle. HC´s remix is so incredibly uplifting: „Take me up!“
06 – Alex Reece – Pulp Fiction (Lynx 2010 Edit): Hard to believe nowadays that the original created the dominating formula of drum´n´bass with just one track. Minimalistic, stripped down beats and a simple Reese bass instead of the frantic beats of jungle.
07 – Nine Inch Nails – Closer (John B Rock God Remix): NIN had a huge influence on me as a teen. So before John created this bootleg remix, I actually used to mix the song from the vinyl album into a dnb track for a few years, which was always difficult af.
08 – DBridge – True Romance: I liked how switching to it works and the long mix with the Closer synths plays out.
09 – Adam F – Metropolis (Remix): The original was another defining Metalheadz track of the Blue Note era.
10 – Marcus Intalex & Spirit – Crackdown: A posthumous release. Two legends capturing the essence of Drum´n´Bass. And ‚The Worm‘ is a favorite break of mine.
11 – Bad Company – The Nine: Massively overplayed many years ago, but I wanted to include a BC track and I think it works well in the context.
12 – Bungle – Cocooned: Bungle is one of my fav producers, this one was extremely popular at our events for a few years.
13 – Mist:i:cal – Mistical Dub: At least a collab with Calibre included in the mix. A real Soul:r classic. Perfect combination of a roller with a laid back dub vibe.
14 – Roni Size – Snapped it (Krust Snapshot Remix): Full Cycle & especially Krust couldnt be avoided, so this minimal killer keeps everyone stepping.
15 – Ed Rush & Optical – Kerbcrawler: That was a very popular roller, unsual for the neuro inventors and I was surprised it still works today. And actually I googled the meaning of the title for the firt time just now.
16 – Zinc feat. Ms Dynamite – Wile Out (DJ Marky & S.P.Y. Remix): Check: Zinc. Check: Marky. Two more producer kings and the iconic voice of Ms Dynamite, only in the breakdown though.
17 – Bladerunner – Back To The Jungle: Just briefly mixed in, this was a staple secret weapon in my crate for a long time.
18 – Digital – Deadline (S.P.Y. Remix): For many years, everytime the synths came on, hands went up and the crowd was shouting excitedly. Outstanding tune. Halftime style without people noticing. SPY´s remix fit better in the mix.
19 – Photek – Sidewinder: The don needed to be included and this was a fitting track, although it´s not „classic Photek“.
20 – Sonic & Silver – Rocket Launcher: I wanted to switch the vibe for the last bit and went for the niche housey influenced sound that Sonic & Silver mastered so well but remained quite rare.
21 – J Majik ft. Loleatta Holloway – 24 Hours: J Majik was at the core of this style. I still remember visiting a rave in Valencia where he (?) played it before it came out and the crowd going absolutely mad. My vinyl is very worn off, so I searched for digital versions, but then I really didnt like their sound, so you can here my crackling copy in the mix.
22 – Cookie Monsters – Keep it Coming: Fairly unknown secret weapon on Infrared. Only 3 tracks ever released by that artist, surely was a collab project.
23 – Zinc – Higher Zinc: Strange decision to end the set with a bootleg of a non-dnb classic. But it´s Zinc working with Hudson Mohawkes banger.

Nach 20 Jahren deepem, dubbigem House und Techno auf Labels, wie Echocord, Third Ear oder Planet E, begann der New Yorker sich mit gebrochenen Rhythmen auf hohem Drum n‘ Bass-Tempo zu beschäftigen. Abseits des Dancefloors entwickelt er heute eine, Soundästhetik voller Details, die tiefes Zuhören belohnt.
villaWuller kann auch gemütlich, mit Teppich, Sitzgelegenheiten und Visuals: Drifte in satten Bässen, wunderschönen Echoräumen und weit aufgespannten Atmosphären zwischen analog und elektronisch. Auf der satten Anlage kommt das überirdische Sound Design von Brendon Moeller zu voller Geltung, gespielt als DJ-Set von Resident Myom.
Die langlebigste Eventcrew der Stadt ist ausgerechnet in einem Nischengenre zuhause:
Drum´n´Bass und Jungle sind in Trier nonstop seit 2001 von uns repräsentiert – tempo90.
Zum Geburtstag greifen Myom und Semuta tief in die Plattenregale. Wie immer gibt es nur „The Finest“:
Klassiker und Überraschungen, Vocals und MCs, schiebende Basslines, vertrackte Breaks, krasse Drops und ein Vibe, der euch nach der Party noch lange weiter-trägt. Uns schon ein halbes Leben.

Wir starteten damals nur, weil es unseren Sound hier nicht gab. Und bis heute leben wir das, haben Hunderte Events bespielt, bringen legendäre DJs und neue Talente in diese Ecke der Welt.
Schenken einfach was zurück. Damit sich immer wieder neue Menschen in diesen einzigartigen Sound verlieben. Der Geburtstag ist erst der Start. 2026 bringt noch einiges.

Sie ist Resident DJ in Amsterdams Melkweg mit eigener Party-Reihe: Beim Cheeky Monday haben wohl so ziemlich alle internationalen D&B-Größen schon gespielt.
Auch sie selbst tourt durch ganz Europa, bei Festivals wie Glastonbury, Outlook, Rampage, Sun&Bass, Let It Roll, Liquicity, Membrain u.v.a.. In London hatte sie eine Residency bei Renegade Hardware.
